Our Story
Curious to know more ?
We are a young pop-rock band from Polytech in Nantes. We mainly permorm covers of songs we enjoy while taking some liberties with our interpretations. PolyPockets, a group of 5 friends, is known for its cheerful and carefree spirit.
To have a better understanding of our group, a bit of context is needed : PolyPockets was created in 2023 by Laurianne and Ronan, two students of the school as singer and drummer. Margot on bass, then Eliza at the piano and lastly Elouan on guitar, all of them are students from the same school, they quickly completed the group.
After some wild adventures and a few performances together, Laurianne and Ronan were forced to stop performing because of the demanding nature of their studies. They no longer allowed them to invest as much time in the band as they wished
Without a singer and a drummer, the group almost disband. But the desire to play and bring their music to life on stage awoked for the remaining members an unwavering determination. They were missing a singer and a drummer so what ? Well, they’d just have to make their own. Mathis, a friend of theirs who was also a student at Polytech, took up the drums for the occasion. He started from scratch and taught himself everything he needed to know to help PolyPockets shine.
Hamza, an older student, agreed to sing for them. It’s a succes :The band performed on the school stage numerous times and slowly built a loyal audience.
The group wanting something new felt the need for a second vocalist.. This time, they’ll have to look beyond their school, though certainly not outside their circle of friends: Mahé, the newest member, will join the group after expressing her desire to sing for a band, it was perfect timing.
At some point Hamza also had to focus on his studies, and so stepped aside to make way for the backup singer. After numerous concerts and a cheerful spirit that still defines the entire group, PolyPockets said goodbye to Hamza’s iconic voice.
And there you have it the band is officially formed: Margot on bass, Elouan on guitar, Eliza on piano, Mathis on drums, and Mahé on vocals.
Although the band has undergone a few changes over the past 3 years, it now has a solid foundation: school commitments no longer threaten to take a new member away from us, and we’re more motivated than ever to perform on stage.
The Members

Margot
Margot, our bassist and the brain of the band, has been playing bass for 8 years. Without her, PolyPockets would probably fall apart ! She also occasionally sings when it’s needed.
